Biography

Jeffrey B. Riley MHPE, CCT is a perfusionist, the supervisor and the educational coordinator in the Cardiovascular Perfusion Group at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota since December 2007.  He was Director of the Circulation Technology Division and an Assistant Professor in Clinical Allied Medicine in the School of Allied Medical Professions in the College of Medicine at The Ohio State University from 2003 to 2007. Prior to going to Ohio State in 2003 starting in 2001, Jeff served as Assistant Professor and Associate Director for the Midwestern University graduate perfusion education program.

Mr. Riley is a recognized leader in perfusion education, perfusion national and local professional organizations and scientific publication production.  Jeff consults with industry leaders, perfusion service groups, legal counsel and other perfusionists. Jeff served as Director of Continuing Medical Education for the American Society of Extra-Corporeal Technology 2002-2006, serves on the International Consortium for Evidence-Based Perfusion and is the classic article section editor in the Journal of Extra-Corporeal Technology

Mr. Riley has authored and co-authored more than 100 scientific publications in the refereed perfusion literature, including many award-winning presentations, manuscripts, and posters.  Mr. Riley's current research interests focus on human factors in perfusion technology simulation and quality management, CPB gaseous microembolic load, and ECC patient data acquisition.
